So Very Me

Pamper’s Little Miracle Mission

When it comes to little ones (babies, kids, etc.) we all try to open our hearts and try to give what help we can to make their lives better. Because seriously, who doesn’t love children? They’re adorable little bundles of joy (and snot and poop, the list goes on). And I personally think that everybody who is able and willing (and not really hurting for cash *cough*gov’t*cough*) should pitch in to help needy families all around the world. I’m not getting all sappy and stuff, I’m speaking my opinion (and really holding back) because we all know people can be doing a lot more then they are to help with more causes then they already are!

So anyway, before I go off on a tangent, let’s get to the point of my post… Pampers is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary! Yay!! *throws a party* And do to so, they are asking us, the normal people of the world (because they’ve already worked with a few celebs and think we’re better! No I’m kidding, but it’s true :P ), to join in the Little Miracles Mission to “pay it forward” and give our time and help to at least one mommy-to-be in our community who might really need your assistance in one way or another.

I have done my part with what I could. Or should I say with what I got. I received a 50$ AMEX Gift Card from Pampers so that I could “pay it forward” help someone in my own little town. I helped a friend of mine get diapers and formula for her newest little one :) I feel so special! But here’s the the awesome part! You can do the same!

Pampers & I are giving away one other $50 AMEX Gift Card to one lucky reader!

Pampers - 50$ gift card AMEX

Also note that everyone can easily participate in a small way by logging on to Pampers Facebook page by hitting ‘like’ and then going to the Miracle Missions tab and committing to Mission 1 by clicking “I Want To Pledge.” Once more than 2,500 people pledge, Pampers will respond by giving baby showers to expectant mothers nationwide just in time for Mother’s Day. As a side note, anyone who pledges is automatically entered to win a year’s supply worth of Pampers diapers and wipes (and that can definitely help someone in a big way!).

Disclosure – I received a small monetary compensation to participate in this event but any and all opinions are purely mine and were not influenced in any way by payment. Thank you to Pampers for providing such an awesome prize for my readers! Good luck everyone!

  1. what a cool idea! love the idea of paying it forward. first heard of it through the starbucks articles (where the first driver at the drivethru would pay for the person behind them etc). but recently i’ve been thinking of how to create bags of goodies to give out. i was watching that show extreme couponing and saw that those people were not just ‘hoarding’ stuff but getting all this stuff to give away. great idea. anyways..just stopping by! :D

  2. Alexandria says:

This would be awesome! I don’t know anyone in my new area yet, but I know of a lot of people back home who could use this.

  3. Natalie says:

I have found out that I can not participate in this because of my location however I think it is great and well done to everyone that has or will be joining in. For others who are stuck like me then these printable pampers coupons are a great help.

I could really stretch that $50. There is a church child care center that really holds the price down to help it be affordable to parents. It is such a calm place and the children are happy and thriving…babies through pre-kindergarten. If they don’t have diapers, they are provided. The staff potty train, teach the children table manners, etc.One of the things I like to do for them is to search for quality books, wooden puzzles, and other items that the director says are needed. Thrift shops and garage sales are my best sources.Everyone on the staff loves children, there is very little turnover in staff, and parents can work and not have to worry about how their child is doing.

    fb-benefit for tiffany blair

    here is her full story:
Tiffany was diagnosed in August 2009 with a rare form of cancer called Ocular Melanoma. This is a very rare type of cancer of the eye. Doctors told her at the time that due to the size of the tumor the best course of action was enucleation, or removal of the eye. Tiffany handled all of this with amazing grace and strength. She had a prosthetic eye made and adapted amazingly quickly. Her insurance would not cover the cost of the eye, as it was deemed to be “cosmetic”, and she had to pay out-of-pocket for this. However, scans revealed no signs of cancer anywhere else in her body and she was deemed to be “cancer free”, and was told she just needed follow-up CAT scans every 6 months for the first 3 years.

She had a beautiful baby boy Dylan in January 2011. During her pregnancy she was unable to have the CT scans completed. She had her most recent scan March 2011. It showed the cancer had returned to her liver and spleen. To make matters worse, she lost her health insurance the day after she learned of this diagnosis. Thankfully, Tiffany has been able to secure insurance from the “high risk pool” in Texas, and her coverage will be effective as of May 1st. However, the premiums and deductible are extremely high. In addition, treatment options are very limited. We are in the process of trying to research the best options quickly. It appears very likely that she will have to travel out-of-state to receive at least some of her treatments. There is a doctor in Pennsylvania that has some potentially promising treatments. We are not sure at this time what all treatment is going to consist of, it is constantly evolving.

    thanks so much
